Places of Interest
State Hermitage Museum is one of the largest inventory museums in the world, accommodating more than 3 million items, of which age vary from the stone age to the present! You will need months to see all items of this museum, yet visit this astonishing house of art to see its most famous items, such as Michelangelo's Crouching Boy, Raphael's Madonna Conestabile, Statues Of Atlantes and Treasure Gallery.

    

Ticket to Hermitage also provides access to Winter Palace, while you can also purchase a separate ticket for the palace. Being the official residence of the Russian Emperor in late 18ths and early 20th century, this palace has enigmatic Armorial hall, very delicate artworks on its domes and the Elizabethan Baroque style architecture.
Savior of the Spilled Blood is a Russian Orthodox church perched along the Griboedov Canal that is currently functioning as a secular museum as well. The church was built in the late 19th century in honor of Tsar Alexander II, who was assassinated in the area. The church is spectacular with its Italian pink marble floors and mosaic art.


Peterhof Palace is a series of palaces and gardens and its architectural style later on was adopted by the whole city. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is remarkable with its history. After his visit to France, Russian Tsar Peter the Great was so impressed that he ordered to establishment of this palace and therefore, it is also known as the “Versailles of Russia”.
Catherine Palace is located in 30 kms from Saint Petersburg was originally a wooden house, that was later gifted to Catherine I by her husband Peter the Great. 13 years later, the Empress Consort ordered the foundation of the stone roccoco palace. The Palace is know for its Golden Enfilade, that are Rastrelli's grand suit.
